DMSI Service Management — FAQ

Common questions about service contracts, time tracking, and asset renewal reminders.

GETTING STARTED

What is DMSI Service Management?

DMSI Service Management adds service contract and time-tracking capabilities to DMSI DDLS. Sell support hour packages through WooCommerce, log billable time per client and contract, track remaining hours in real time, and set automated renewal reminders for domains, hosting, SSL certificates, and other assets.

Who is DMSI Service Management for?

  • Web development agencies selling maintenance packages
  • WordPress managed service providers
  • IT consultants who invoice clients for support hours
  • Any business that sells service contracts alongside digital products

How does it integrate with DMSI DDLS?

Clients see their contract status, remaining hours, and time log breakdown in the same DMSI DDLS customer portal where they access licenses and downloads. Everything stays inside WordPress — no external tools needed.

PRICING

How much does DMSI Service Management cost?

€79/year. Includes the plugin, all updates, and standard support.

Is there a launch discount?

Yes — 30% off your first year. You pay €55.30 for the first year, then €79/year on renewal.

Is Service Management included in any bundle?

Yes. Service Management is included in the Business Bundle — 5 extensions for €249/year (save 30% over buying individually).

What happens if I don’t renew?

Your existing contracts, time logs, and asset reminders continue working. You lose access to updates and support, but all data remains in your WordPress database.

FEATURES

How do service contracts work?

Define contract products in WooCommerce with monthly, quarterly, or annual billing periods. When a customer purchases a contract, it’s automatically assigned to their account. You manage contract status, hours, and renewals from the WordPress admin.

How does time tracking work?

Log billable time from WordPress admin with an optional approval workflow: Draft → Pending → Approved → Billed. Each time entry is attributed to a client, contract, and team member. Clients see their hour balance and time log breakdown in their portal.

What are asset renewal reminders?

Set configurable reminders for any asset type — domains, hosting, SSL certificates, software licenses, or custom types. Reminders are sent automatically by email at intervals you choose (e.g., 30 days, 7 days, 1 day before expiry).

What are SLA tiers?

Define SLA response targets per contract tier (e.g., Standard, Priority, Enterprise). When Support Desk is also active, SLA tiers apply automatically to the ticket queue based on each client’s active contract — no manual configuration per ticket.

Can clients see their contract status?

Yes. The client portal shows contract status, remaining support hours, a breakdown of logged time entries, and upcoming asset renewals.

INSTALLATION

What are the requirements?

  • DMSI DDLS (free core plugin) — required
  • WooCommerce — required
  • WordPress 6.0 or higher
  • PHP 8.0 or higher

How do I install Service Management?

  1. Purchase and download from your DMSI account
  2. Upload via WordPress Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Activate the plugin
  4. Navigate to DMSI → Service Management to configure contracts and settings

Does it require WooCommerce Subscriptions?

No. Service Management handles its own contract billing cycles. WooCommerce Subscriptions is a separate plugin and is not required.

COMPATIBILITY

Does it work with Support Desk?

Yes. When both extensions are active, tickets from clients on Priority contracts automatically receive Priority SLA treatment. No manual configuration needed per ticket.

Does it work with Team Management?

Yes. When both are active, time entries are attributed to individual team members, enabling per-agent billing reports and client-facing breakdowns of who worked on what.

Can I export contract and time data?

Yes. Contract data, time logs, and asset renewal schedules can be exported via CSV or accessed through the DMSI DDLS REST API.

SUPPORT

What support is included?

Standard support is included with your license. Submit tickets through your DMSI account dashboard.

Where can I find the documentation?

Documentation is available at dmsi.gr/docs/dmsi-service-management/. Includes setup guides, contract configuration, time tracking workflows, and asset reminder setup.

Can I migrate from spreadsheets?

Service Management doesn’t include a dedicated import tool, but contract and time data can be entered via the WordPress admin or imported via the REST API. For bulk migrations, the API is the recommended approach.
