What is Claudius Corp?

Claudius Corp is a desktop application that gives you a complete virtual company powered by AI. You design workflows, assign agent roles — Product Manager, Architect, Developer, QA, Marketing, and more — and your AI team executes the work while you make the decisions. Think of it as having a full team on your desktop, ready to work on your projects around the clock.

Do I need to be a developer to use it?

No. Claudius Corp includes a visual workflow builder — drag, drop, connect. Many of the 14 agent roles handle non-technical work: Marketing Manager, SEO Specialist, Business Analyst, Video Creator, Documentation Writer. If you can describe what you want done, your virtual team can execute it.

What is Claude Code CLI and do I need it?

Claude Code CLI is the free AI engine from Anthropic that powers Claudius Corp’s agents. You install it once and authenticate with your Anthropic account (API key or Claude Pro/Max plan). Claudius Corp handles everything else — you don’t need to interact with Claude Code directly. Think of Claude Code as the engine under the hood; Claudius Corp is the dashboard you drive from.

Documentation says Claude Code CLI is a requirement. Does that mean I have to use the terminal?

No. The agents do open in terminal windows and you have the ability to interact with them through the terminal, but when they finish their tasks, their terminals close automatically. This is a deliberate design decision. It gives the advanced user the ability to intervene and guide an agent mid-task, while offering the casual user a live window into what each agent is working on — without requiring any terminal knowledge.

Does it work on Mac or Linux?

Not at launch. Claudius Corp is a Windows 10/11 desktop application. macOS and Linux support is on the roadmap but there is no confirmed timeline. If this matters to you, please submit a feature request at /request-a-feature/ — requests from license holders are prioritized.

How much does Claudius Corp cost?

It’s a one-time purchase — not a subscription. Standard Edition is €69 (launch price, regular €99). Developer Edition is €199 (launch price, regular €299). You own the software. All v3.x updates are included forever.

Do I need to pay Anthropic separately for the AI?

Yes. Claudius Corp is the software; Anthropic provides the AI. You can use either a pay-per-use API key or a Claude Pro/Max subscription plan — your choice. There is no markup from DMSI. A typical small project with a pay-per-use API key costs approximately $2—5 in credits.

Can I use it on multiple computers?

Each license allows 1 machine activation. This keeps the price low for solo users. If you need multiple seats, the Developer Team License covers 5 activations at €599.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — 14 days, full features, no credit card required. Download, install, and your virtual company is running in minutes. If you decide to purchase, enter your license key in Settings and continue where you left off.

What’s the difference between Standard and Developer?

Both editions include all 14 agent roles and every platform feature — the full virtual company experience. The only difference is source code access. Developer Edition lets you open the hood: modify the application code, create entirely new agent roles from scratch at the code level, and compile a customized version of Claudius Corp. If you want to use Claudius Corp as-is, Standard is all you need.

Can I customize agent roles?

Yes. Both editions let you create custom roles and edit any role’s name, model, description, and system prompt — changing how each agent thinks and works. You can reshape any of the 14 built-in roles or create entirely new ones to fit your needs. In Developer Edition, you also have full source code access, so you can modify role behavior at the application level and compile your own version.

Is my data sent to DMSI?

No. Claudius Corp runs entirely on your machine. Your project files, source code, and workflow data are stored in your local workspace folder. The only external communication is between your machine and Anthropic’s API for AI processing. DMSI receives no telemetry, no project data, and no code.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Claudius Corp has a 7-day offline grace period. You can view your projects, review history, and access all local data. Running AI agents requires an internet connection to reach Anthropic’s API, but your existing work is always accessible.

How is this different from Cursor, Copilot, or other AI coding tools?

Cursor and Copilot are AI-augmented code editors — they help you write code one file at a time. Claudius Corp is a project orchestration platform — it runs an entire team of AI agents through a defined workflow: requirements → architecture → development → QA → documentation → marketing. They solve different problems. You can use Claudius Corp alongside any code editor.

Why not just use Claude Code directly?

You can — and many people do great work with it. But Claude Code is one agent in one session. When you close the terminal, context is gone. Claudius Corp gives that same AI engine a company structure: defined roles, workflows, quality gates, rework routing, and full project history. It’s the difference between having one talented freelancer and having a structured team.
