DMSI Planner — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about DMSI Planner.

GETTING STARTED

What is DMSI Planner?

DMSI Planner is a professional project and task management application for Windows. It runs on your desktop, stores all data locally in a fast SQLite database, and includes a built-in AI assistant that can query your projects and answer questions in natural language.

What platforms does it run on?

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). There are no plans for macOS or Linux at this time.

Do I need to be technical to use it?

No. DMSI Planner has a visual interface with Gantt charts, Kanban boards, a Dashboard, and a Logger view. Everything is drag-and-drop. The AI assistant is optional — you can use the app without it.

Can I use DMSI Planner offline?

Yes. The core application works fully offline. The AI assistant requires an internet connection (for cloud AI providers) or a local Ollama installation. License validation has a 7-day offline grace period.

PRICING & LICENSING

How much does DMSI Planner cost?

$49/year. All features included — no tiers, no upsells. Updates and support are included while your license is active.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — 14 days, full features, no credit card required. Download, install, and start planning in minutes. If you decide to purchase, enter your license key in Settings and continue where you left off.

What happens when the trial expires?

The application switches to read-only mode. You can still view all your data but cannot create or modify items. Enter a license key to restore full access.

What happens if I don’t renew?

Your data stays on your machine — it’s yours. The app switches to read-only mode after a 7-day grace period. Renew anytime to restore full access.

Can I use it on multiple computers?

Each license allows 1 machine activation. Contact support if you need to transfer your license to a different machine.

AI ASSISTANT

Which AI providers are supported?

Claude Code CLI (recommended), Anthropic API, OpenAI API, Google Gemini API, and local Ollama models. Claude Code gives the best experience because it runs locally and has direct read-only access to your database.

Do I need to pay for AI separately?

Yes. DMSI Planner is the software; the AI provider is separate. For Claude Code, you need a Claude Pro/Max plan or an Anthropic API key. For other providers, you need their respective API keys. Ollama is free and runs locally. There is no markup from DMSI.

Does the AI modify my data?

No. The AI assistant has read-only access to your database. It can query and analyze your projects, tasks, and activity logs, but it cannot create, update, or delete anything.

Is the AI assistant required?

No. The AI assistant is entirely optional. DMSI Planner works fully without it — all project management features are available regardless of AI configuration.

FEATURES & INTEGRATION

What is CC3 Sync?

CC3 Sync allows bidirectional synchronization with Claudius Corp, our AI-powered virtual company platform. Products and projects created in Claudius Corp appear in DMSI Planner and vice versa. This is optional — DMSI Planner works perfectly standalone.

What views are available?

Four views: Gantt (timeline with dependency arrows and column management), Kanban (drag-and-drop cards by status), Dashboard (status summaries and charts), and Logger (detailed activity log with filtering and AI summaries). You can switch between views at any time.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Activity logs can be exported to CSV. The database is a standard SQLite file on your machine that you can back up, copy, or query with any SQLite tool.

Does it have an MCP server?

Yes. DMSI Planner exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that other AI tools can connect to. This lets external AI assistants interact with your project data through a standardized protocol.

PRIVACY & DATA

Is my data sent to DMSI?

No. DMSI Planner runs entirely on your machine. Your projects, tasks, and activity logs are stored in a local SQLite database. The only external communication is license validation (with DMSI) and AI queries (with your chosen AI provider). DMSI receives no project data.

Where is my data stored?

In your Windows AppData folder: %APPDATA%/gr.dmsi.planner/dmsi-planner/planner.db. It’s a standard SQLite database that you can back up manually or with any backup tool.

Can I back up my data?

Yes. DMSI Planner has a built-in backup feature in Settings that creates a ZIP archive of your database. You can also copy the database file directly.
