Version note: Bundle products require DMSI DDLS v2.1.0 or later.
Prerequisites #
Before creating a bundle product, make sure:
- The individual DDLS products you want to include already exist and have licensing enabled.
- You have decided on the bundle price and whether it will be subscription-based.
Step-by-Step Guide #
Step 1: Create a WooCommerce Product #
- Go to WooCommerce > Products > Add New
- Enter a product name (e.g., “Developer Pack”)
- Set the product price in the General tab
- Check Virtual (bundles have no physical shipping)
Step 2: Enable Licensing and Set Type to Bundle #
- In the Product Data metabox, click the Licensing tab
- Check Enable Licensing
- In the DDLS Product Type dropdown, select Bundle
- The Bundled Products selector appears below the dropdown
Step 3: Select Bundled Products #
The Bundled Products field shows a multi-select list of all available DDLS products (excluding other bundles — bundles cannot contain bundles).
- Click the products you want to include in the bundle
- Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) to select multiple products
- The order of selection determines display order in the customer portal
Restriction: A bundle cannot contain another bundle. Only regular DDLS products (software, service) can be added.
Note: A bundle must contain at least one child product. An empty bundle will save without error but will generate no child licenses on purchase.
Step 4: Configure Subscription Settings (Optional) #
If the bundle should be sold as a recurring subscription:
- Check Enable Subscription in the Subscription Settings section
- Set the Billing Period (Monthly, Annually, etc.)
- Set the Billing Interval if applicable
The subscription price is taken from the WooCommerce product price set in Step 1.
Important: The subscription is linked to the bundle as a whole. Child products’ individual subscription settings are ignored for bundle purchases. The bundle’s subscription setting governs all renewal behavior for the entire bundle.
Step 5: Publish #
Click Publish to make the bundle available for purchase.
After publishing, the bundle appears in DDLS > Products with a badge showing “Bundle · N products” (where N is the number of child products configured).
Editing Bundle Contents #
To change which products are in a bundle:
- Go to WooCommerce > Products and edit the bundle product
- Click the Licensing tab
- Add or remove products in the Bundled Products selector
- Click Update
Important: Changes to bundled products only affect future purchases. Licenses already generated from previous purchases are not retroactively changed.
