Configuring Portal Features #
Portal features are controlled from DDLS > Settings > Portal tab. Each feature toggle controls what customers can see and do inside the portal.
Downloads Feature #
Setting: Allow Downloads
When enabled, the Downloads section appears in the portal sidebar and customers can download files from it.
When disabled, the Downloads section is hidden from the portal navigation entirely. Customers will not see a Downloads option.
Even when downloads are enabled in portal settings, a customer can only download a specific file if:
- They have an active license for the product, and
- The product does not require an active support contract for downloads, or the customer does have an active support contract
See the Product Configuration documentation for information on the “Requires Support for Downloads” product setting.
Activation Management Feature #
Setting: Allow Activation Management
When enabled, customers can deactivate domain activations from within the Licenses section of the portal. This is useful if a customer is moving a site to a new domain and needs to free up an activation slot.
When disabled, customers can still view their activations in the Licenses section, but the deactivate controls are hidden. Customers who need to deactivate a site would need to contact you directly.
Subscription Management Feature #
Setting: Allow Subscription Management
When enabled, the Subscriptions section is visible in the portal and customers can view their subscription details, including renewal dates and billing history.
When disabled, the Subscriptions section is hidden from the portal navigation.
Enable/Disable the Entire Portal #
You can turn the entire portal on or off with the portal enable toggle. When disabled:
- The portal page still exists in WordPress
- Visiting the portal URL will not show portal content
- Customers cannot access any portal functionality
This is useful during initial setup or maintenance.
