How license keys are generated and managed.
Settings Available #
License Key Format #

Default Activation Limit #
| Value | Meaning |

| 0 | Unlimited activations |
| 1 | Single-site license |
| 5 | Up to 5 sites |
Default: 0 (unlimited)
Default License Type #
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Lifetime | Never expires |
| Annual | Expires after 1 year |
| Monthly | Expires after 1 month |
Default: Lifetime
Note: This is a system-level fallback setting, separate from the admin-defined License Types feature introduced in v1.2.0. This dropdown uses a static set of values (Lifetime, Annual, Monthly) and determines the fallback behavior when no License Type is explicitly assigned to a product. To configure named, database-backed License Types that can be assigned per product or variation, see [License Types](#) (Part 13) and [Settings > License Types tab](#).
Auto-Expire Licenses #
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Checked | Licenses auto-expire on expiration date |
| Unchecked | Licenses stay “active” past expiration |
Recommendation: Keep checked for automatic management.
Expiration Notice #
Days before expiration to send reminder email.
Example: 7 sends reminder 7 days before expiration.
Default: 30 days
Stale Activation Days #
Days without check-in before marking activation as “stale.”
Helps identify inactive/abandoned installations.
Default: 90 days
