Platforms Settings Tab #
Version note: The Platforms tab in Settings was introduced in v2.0.0. Previously, platform options (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.) were hardcoded in the plugin.
Getting There #
Go to DDLS > Settings > Platforms.
What Platforms Control #
Platform values appear in two places:
- Admin file upload: When attaching a file to a product version, you select a platform to identify which operating system or environment the file is for.
- Customer Portal: Customers see the platform label next to each downloadable file, helping them choose the correct download.
Managing Platforms #
Adding a Platform #
Click [Add Platform] and enter:
- Label: Display name (shown in dropdowns and to customers)
- Slug: Internal key (auto-suggested; avoid changing once files use it)
Click [Save] to add the platform.
Editing a Platform #
Click the edit icon next to an existing platform. Update the Label or Slug.
Caution: Changing a platform slug does not update existing file records. Files previously tagged with the old slug will no longer display the platform label correctly. Edit slugs only before they have been assigned to files.
Deleting a Platform #
Click the delete icon next to a platform. Existing file records tagged with this platform are not deleted; they simply lose their platform label display.
Reordering Platforms #
Drag and drop platform rows to change the order they appear in dropdowns.
Default Platforms #
On fresh installation, DDLS creates these defaults:
- Windows
- macOS
- Linux
- All Platforms
Modify or remove these to match your product lineup.
