Assigning EULAs to Products #

After creating and activating an EULA document, you assign it to the products that require acceptance.

Assignment Levels #

DDLS supports three assignment levels:

Priority order: If a product has both a product-level assignment and a category-level assignment, the product-level assignment takes precedence.

Assigning to a Simple Product #

1. Go to WooCommerce > Products and open the product
2. Click the Licensing tab in the Product Data metabox
3. Scroll to the EULA Assignment section at the bottom of the Licensing tab
4. Open the EULA Document dropdown
5. Select the active EULA document to assign
6. Click [Update] to save

After saving, customers visiting this product’s page will see the acceptance checkbox before the add-to-cart button.

Assigning to a Product Variation #

1. Go to WooCommerce > Products and open the variable product
2. Click the Variations tab
3. Expand the variation you want to assign an EULA to
4. Scroll to the EULA Assignment section in the variation panel
5. Select the EULA document from the dropdown
6. Click [Save changes]

Variation-level assignments override product-level and category-level assignments for that specific variation.

Assigning to a Product Category #

1. Go to WooCommerce > Products > Categories
2. Click the category to edit
3. Scroll to the EULA Assignment section
4. Select the EULA document from the dropdown
5. Click [Update]

All products in this category will use this EULA unless they have a product-level or variation-level assignment that overrides it.

Removing an Assignment #

To remove an EULA assignment, select the blank option (“– No EULA –“) in the assignment dropdown and save.

What Customers See #

When a product has an active EULA assignment:

1. A “License Agreement” tab appears on the WooCommerce product page
2. An acceptance checkbox appears before (or after) the add-to-cart button
3. The checkbox label is customizable in Settings > EULA
4. The customer must check the checkbox before they can add the product to their cart
