Key Differences from Add New #
1. License Key Field #
- Displays as read-only text
- Shows full key: DMSI-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
- No Generate Key button (key is permanent)
2. Customer Field #
- Can be changed (but triggers confirmation)
- Changing customer = transferring ownership
- Always verify authorization before transferring!
3. Product Field #
- Can be changed (but triggers confirmation)
- Changing product = upgrade or downgrade
- Rare operation – usually create new license instead
4. Activation Limit Changes #
Shows warning if you try to reduce below current usage.
Example: License has 3 sites activated, limit is 5.
- Increase to 10: Allowed, saves immediately
- Decrease to 2: Blocked with error
Error: “Cannot reduce limit below current usage (3 active). Deactivate sites first.”
Solution:
- Go to Activations screen
- Deactivate some sites
- Return to license edit
- Reduce limit
5. Status Changes #
Active to Suspended: Asks “Are you sure?” Suspended to Active: Saves immediately (reactivation) Any to Cancelled: Shows strong warning (permanent)
Cancellation Warning:
