Resetting Activations #
Customers sometimes lose access to old sites and can’t deactivate them. Here’s how to help.
Common Scenario #
Customer: “I lost access to my old sites and can’t deactivate them. I’m stuck!”
Option A: Deactivate Specific Sites #
Best when: Customer knows which specific sites are old
Option B: Bulk Deactivate All Activations #
Best when: Customer needs complete fresh start
Which Option to Use? #
Use Option A (Specific Sites):
- Customer knows which sites are old
- Clean, surgical approach
- Preserves valid activations
Use Option B (Bulk Reset):
- Customer lost track
- Needs complete fresh start
- Faster for many activations
Follow-up #
Email customer: “I’ve cleared your old activations. You can now activate on your new sites!”
What Customer Sees #
- Activation count resets (e.g., from 5/5 to 0/5)
- Can immediately activate on new sites
- Old installations stop working on next license check
