Overview #

For variable products (e.g. a plugin sold in Lite and Pro variations), DDLS v2.0.1 allows you to attach a separate download file to each variation. When a customer purchases a specific variation, they receive the file for that variation only.

Setting Up Per-Variation Files #

1. Go to Products → Edit Product for a variable product
2. Open the Variations tab
3. Expand the variation you want to configure
4. In the DDLS section of the variation, locate the Download File field
5. Upload or select the file for this variation
6. Repeat for each variation
7. Save the product

How It Works #

When an order is completed, DDLS checks the purchased variation and delivers the file attached to that specific variation. If a variation has no file set, DDLS falls back to the product-level file if one is configured.

Protected Uploads #

Files uploaded through the DDLS variation file field are stored in a protected directory outside the public web root. Direct URL access is blocked — files are only served through DDLS’s secure download delivery after license validation.
