Download Security #
How DMSI DDLS protects your files.
How Secure Downloads Work #
When a customer clicks “Download” in the portal:
For Licensed Products #
| Check | What It Validates |
|---|---|
| 1. Customer logged in? | User authentication |
| 2. Owns this product? | Purchase verification |
| 3. License active? | License status |
| 4. Support active? | Support contract status (if required) |
For Non-Licensed Products #
| Check | What It Validates |
|---|---|
| 1. Customer logged in? | User authentication |
| 2. Purchased this product? | Order verification |
Temporary Download URLs #
Files are never directly accessible. Instead:
- System generates temporary, signed URL
- URL expires after short time (typically 5 minutes)
- Each download gets unique URL
- Cannot be shared or reused
Access Control by Support Contract #
If “Requires Support for Downloads” is enabled on product:
| Support Status | Can Download? |
|---|---|
| Active | Yes |
| Expired | No |
| None | No |
This is the most common issue when customers report download problems.
Audit Trail #
Every download is logged with:
- Customer identity
- License used
- File downloaded
- Date/time
- IP address
Cannot be deleted or modified (compliance/security).
