Bandwidth and Cost Tracking #
DMSI Analytics estimates the bandwidth consumed by your downloads and the associated cost, helping you understand the infrastructure cost of your delivery operations.
How Bandwidth is Estimated #
DMSI Analytics reads file sizes from the DDLS file records associated with each download event. It multiplies size x download count to estimate total data transferred.
Note: This is an estimate only. Actual bandwidth depends on whether CDN caching, partial downloads, or resume requests are involved. Your hosting or CDN provider’s control panel is the authoritative source for exact bandwidth usage.
Bandwidth Cost Estimate #
On the Download Analytics page, you can configure a cost per GB in Analytics Settings. DMSI Analytics multiplies estimated GB transferred by your configured rate to show an estimated cost.
Configuring Bandwidth Cost Rate #
- Go to DDLS > Analytics > Settings
- Find the Download Analytics section
- Enter your Cost per GB (check your hosting or CDN pricing)
- Save Settings
The Download Analytics page will update to show cost estimates using this rate.
Bandwidth Over Time #
The Bandwidth Over Time chart shows estimated GB transferred per month. Use this to plan CDN or hosting tier upgrades before you hit capacity limits.
