Claude Code Setup (Recommended) #
- Install Claude Code on your system
- In DMSI Planner, go to Settings → AI Provider
- Select “Claude Code (local CLI)” from the dropdown
- Click “Test Connection” to verify
Claude Code provides the richest experience: it can query your project database directly using SQL, giving you accurate answers about your data.
API Provider Setup #
- Select your provider from the dropdown
- Enter your API key
- Optionally change the model or endpoint
- Click “Test Connection”
Note: API-based providers cannot query your database directly. They respond based on the context summary (in-progress items, recent activity) provided by the app.
Using the AI Assistant #
Click the sparkle icon in the top-right toolbar. The AI panel opens at the bottom of the screen.
- Type natural language questions about your projects
- Use quick-action buttons: Breakdown, Log Summary, Conflicts, Priorities
- The AI remembers conversation context within a session
