Adding Customer Assets #
Assets are created manually by administrators or staff with appropriate permissions.
Steps #
- Go to Services > Assets.
- Click Add New Asset.
- Complete the asset form.
- Click Save Asset.
Asset Form Fields #
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Asset Name | A clear identifying name for the asset (for example, “clientsite.com” or “SSL – Primary Domain”) |
| Customer | The client who owns or uses this asset |
| Asset Type | Domain, SSL, Hosting, or Custom |
| Description | Optional notes about the asset (registrar, account reference, etc.) |
| Expiration Date | The date the asset expires or requires renewal |
| Renewal Cost | The cost to renew this asset (for tracking and reporting) |
| Auto Renew | Whether the asset is set to renew automatically with the provider |
| Registration Date | When the asset was originally registered or set up (optional) |
After Saving #
Once saved, the asset appears in the Assets list and on the customer’s portal assets page. If the expiration date falls within the configured reminder windows (default 7 and 30 days), the asset will appear in the Dashboard Alerts widget as it approaches expiration.
Bulk Import #
At present, assets are added individually through the admin form. Bulk import functionality is not included in version 1.0.1. For customers with many assets, create them one at a time or use the WordPress REST API if developer tooling is available.
Editing an Asset #
To update an asset (for example, to update the expiration date after a renewal):
- Go to Services > Assets.
- Click Edit on the asset row.
- Update the fields as needed.
- Click Save Asset.
