Quick Start Guide #
This guide walks through the minimum steps to get DMSI Service Management operational from a fresh installation.
Step 1: Activate Your License #
- Go to Services > Settings > License.
- Enter your license key and click Activate License.
Step 2: Create a Service Type #
Service types categorize requests. At least one service type is required before creating requests.
- Go to Services > Service Types.
- Click Add New.
- Enter a name (for example, “General Support” or “Maintenance”).
- Set a default hourly rate if billing applies.
- Click Save.
Step 3: Create an SLA Template #
SLA templates define response and resolution time targets attached to contracts.
- Go to Services > SLA Templates.
- Click Add New.
- Enter a name (for example, “Standard SLA”).
- Set Response Time and Resolution Time in minutes.
- Configure business hours and working days, or enable the 24/7 toggle.
- Click Save.
Step 4: Create a Service Contract #
- Go to Services > Contracts.
- Click Add New.
- Select the customer.
- Enter hours allocated, start date, and expiration date.
- Assign the SLA template you created.
- Click Save. The contract is assigned a number in the format SVC-YYYY-NNNNN.
Step 5: Create Your First Service Request #
- Go to Services > Requests.
- Click Add New.
- Select the customer and link the contract.
- Choose a service type and set priority.
- Enter a subject and description.
- Click Save. The request is assigned a number beginning at SR-1001.
Step 6: Configure Email Notifications #
- Go to Services > Settings > Notifications.
- Review the 11 notification toggles and enable the ones relevant to your workflow.
- Click Save Settings.
Once these steps are complete, you have a functioning contract with an attached SLA, a service request, and notifications in place.
