General Settings #
The General tab contains the core operational settings that affect how the plugin records time, assigns SLA templates, and generates request numbers.
What DMSI Service Management Adds
All settings on this tab are new to this extension. They have no equivalent in Core.
Accessing General Settings #
Navigate to Services > Settings > General.
Time Granularity #
Setting name: time_granularity
Controls the minimum unit of time that staff can log against a service request. Available options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| 6 minutes (0.1 hour) | Finest granularity — appropriate for precision billing |
| 15 minutes (0.25 hour) | Standard quarter-hour billing granularity |
| 1 hour | Coarsest granularity — rounds all entries to the nearest hour |
Time entries logged by staff are validated against this setting. If a staff member attempts to log 10 minutes and granularity is set to 15 minutes, the entry is rounded up to 15 minutes.
Default: 15 minutes
Impact: Changes to this setting apply to new time entries only. Existing time entries already logged are not retroactively adjusted.
Default SLA Template #
Setting name: default_sla_template_id
The SLA template automatically assigned to new service requests when no SLA template is specified. Select from the SLA templates configured at Services > SLA Templates.
If this field is left empty (no default), new requests will have no SLA template assigned unless one is manually selected during request creation.
Default: The first seeded SLA template created on installation (Standard SLA)
Request Number Offset #
Setting name: request_number_offset
Sets the starting number for service request sequential numbering. Request numbers follow the format SR-XXXX, where XXXX is a sequential integer starting from this offset.
Default: 1001 (so the first request is SR-1001)
Important: This value is set at plugin activation. Changing it after requests have been created does not renumber existing requests. It only affects the next request to be created.
