Reactivation allows a previously cancelled or suspended customer to restart their subscription without creating a new order. DMSI Subscriptions Pro provides both customer-initiated and admin-initiated reactivation paths.
📌 What This Extension Adds: Core DDLS does not have a reactivation flow. Subscriptions Pro adds reactivation eligibility checks, the customer portal reactivation button, payment processing on reactivation, and license restore.
Reactivation Eligibility #
A subscription is eligible for reactivation if:
- Status is
cancelledorsuspended - The subscription has not exceeded the reactivation window (configurable)
- The customer’s account is in good standing (no active disputes)
If the reactivation window has expired, the customer must purchase a new subscription.
Customer-Initiated Reactivation #
- Customer navigates to My Account → Subscriptions.
- A Reactivate button appears on eligible cancelled/suspended subscriptions.
- Customer clicks Reactivate — a confirmation modal opens showing the subscription details and the amount that will be charged.
- Customer confirms reactivation.
- Payment processed — The renewal payment for the next billing period is collected.
- Subscription reactivated — Status changes to
active. License access is restored. - Confirmation email — A reactivation confirmation email is sent.
Admin-Initiated Reactivation #
Admins can reactivate from the Subscription Pro Status Metabox using the Reactivate button. Admin reactivation can optionally skip payment collection (e.g. for goodwill reactivations).
Win-Back Reactivation #
When a customer reactivates through a win-back campaign link, the reactivation is attributed to the campaign and recorded as a conversion in win-back analytics. See Win-Back Analytics.
License Restore on Reactivation #
On successful reactivation, the DDLS license record is restored to active status. If the license key was revoked, it is reissued. The customer receives their license key in the reactivation confirmation email.
