Trial period configuration is split between global plugin settings (at DMSI → Subscriptions Pro → Trials tab) and per-product settings (at the WooCommerce product level).
📌 What This Extension Adds: The Trials tab and all trial-related option keys below are provided by Subscriptions Pro. They do not exist in core DDLS.
Global Trial Settings #
| Option Key | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
dmsilm_sp_trials_enabled | false | Master toggle to enable the trial periods feature |
dmsilm_sp_default_trial_days | 14 | Default trial duration in days (used when no per-product override is set) |
Maximum Trial Duration #
The maximum allowed trial duration is 90 days. This limit is enforced at the code level in the trial validation logic — it is not a configurable admin setting and does not appear in the options table.
Important:
dmsilm_sp_max_trial_daysis not a stored option key. The 90-day ceiling is a hardcoded value in the plugin code. You cannot raise it above 90 days through the admin settings. If you need a longer trial, a code-level customisation is required.
Enabling Trials #
Trials are disabled by default. To enable:
- Navigate to DMSI → Subscriptions Pro → General tab.
- Enable the Trial Periods feature toggle (
dmsilm_sp_trials_enabled= true). - Navigate to DMSI → Subscriptions Pro → Trials tab to configure the default duration and notification timing.
Per-Product Trial Configuration #
Individual subscription products can override the default trial duration. On the WooCommerce product edit screen, look for the DMSI Subscription Pro meta panel and set a product-specific trial duration. If left empty, the global default (dmsilm_sp_default_trial_days) is used.
One Trial Per Customer Enforcement #
The enforcement is automatic — no configuration required. The plugin checks wp_dmsilm_sp_trial_log for any prior trial record matching the customer ID and product ID before allowing a trial to start.
