Plugin License Issues #
Problems with the DMSI Update Server plugin's own license.
Issue 1: Settings Tab Shows "License Required" #
Symptom: After installing the plugin, only the license entry form appears. No settings or features are available.
Cause: The plugin's own license key has not been activated yet.
Fix:
- Go to DDLS > Settings > Update Server
- Enter your license key from dmsi.gr in the License Key field
- Click Activate License
- Wait for validation (requires internet connection to dmsi.gr)
- If successful, all settings and features appear
Issue 2: License Was Active, Now Shows Expired #
Symptom: The license status shows "expired" and features are disabled.
Causes:
- Your DMSI Update Server license subscription expired
- The daily validation job confirmed the expiry
Actions:
- Check your license status at dmsi.gr
- Renew if expired
- After renewal, go to DDLS > Settings > Update Server and click Validate License to refresh the local status without waiting for the next daily check
Grace period: After expiry, you have 7 days before features are disabled. The license status shows "grace" during this period and the extension continues to function.
Issue 3: "Cannot Connect to License Server" #
Symptom: Activation or validation fails with a connectivity error.
Checklist:
- Is your WordPress server able to reach external URLs? Check Settings > System Status.
- Is dmsi.gr reachable from your server? Some restrictive firewalls block outbound connections.
- Is your server's SSL certificate store up to date? Validation uses HTTPS.
Temporary workaround: The extension uses cached validation results. If connectivity is intermittent, the extension stays in "grace" mode using the last successful validation result for up to 7 days.
