AI Assistant #
Flexible includes an optional AI assistant that helps you plan, capture, and organize. It is available on both Windows and Android. You choose the provider and model, so you stay in control of what powers it. Nothing is sent to an AI provider until you enable the assistant and give it a request.
Choose a provider #
Open Settings → AI Assistant and pick one:
- Anthropic (Claude) — enter an Anthropic API key. Default model:
claude-3-5-sonnet(Opus and Haiku also available). - OpenAI — enter an OpenAI API key. Default model:
gpt-4o-mini. - Local (Ollama) — run models on your own machine with Ollama; no API key or internet required. Install Ollama and pull a model first.
Add your API key #
- Select your provider.
- Paste your API key (for Anthropic or OpenAI).
- Choose a model, then save.
API keys are stored locally on your device.
Using the assistant #
Open the AI Assistant screen and type what you need. The assistant works entirely inside Flexible, using the provider you configured.
Costs #
Anthropic and OpenAI bill you directly for API usage under your own account. The Local (Ollama) option is free to run.
Not the same as MCP #
The AI Assistant is Flexible’s own built-in assistant. It is a separate feature from the MCP Server, which works the other way around — letting external AI tools connect into Flexible. You do not need one to use the other.
