You can delete any custom role, subject to the constraints below. Built-in roles cannot be deleted.

Admin-Side Feature

Before Deleting #

You cannot delete a role if any staff members are currently assigned to it.

Before deleting a role:

• (‘ol’, ‘Go to DMSI DDLS > Team > Team Members and filter by the role you want to delete.’)

• (‘ol’, ‘For each staff member with that role, edit them and assign a different role.’)

• (‘ol’, ‘Once no staff members are assigned the role, proceed with deletion.’)

Steps #

• (‘ol’, ‘Go to DMSI DDLS > Team > Roles.’)

• (‘ol’, ‘Find the custom role.’)

• (‘ol’, ‘Click Delete.’)

• (‘ol’, ‘Confirm the deletion.’)

What Deletion Does #

• The role is soft-deleted (marked with a deletion timestamp, not permanently erased).
• The role no longer appears in the Roles list.
• The role no longer appears in the role selector when adding or editing staff members.

Recovering a Deleted Role #

There is no UI for recovering a soft-deleted role. If you accidentally delete a role, you would need to create a new role with the same permissions, or contact a developer to restore the database record.
