Version Statistics #
Per-version statistics available in the version edit form.
Where to Find Version Stats #
- Go to DDLS > Versions
- Click Edit on any published version
- Scroll to the Update Server Settings section
- Stats appear below the settings fields
Available Statistics #

| Download Count | Total auto-update downloads for this version |
| Bandwidth Used | Total data transferred for this version (formatted, e.g., "1.4 GB") |
| Unique Clients | Number of unique licenses that downloaded this version |
Download Count vs Core Downloads #
There are two download counters for each version:
- Core DDLS Downloads column — counts portal downloads (customer portal file access)
- Update Server Download Count — counts API-delivered auto-update downloads
Both are tracked independently. For software products, the Update Server download count is usually much higher than portal downloads, because most customers update automatically rather than logging into the portal.
Interpreting Stats #
| Pattern | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Download count much lower than update checks | Customers are not completing the update install |
| Unique clients close to total active licenses | Good adoption |
| Unique clients much lower than active licenses | Many customers on older versions — consider sending a reminder email |
| High bandwidth with low downloads | You have a large release file |
