Rollback to Previous Versions #
Customers can download any available version, not just the latest.
What Is Rollback? #
Rollback lets a customer download an older version of your software if a newer update caused problems. Rather than contacting support, the customer can self-serve a rollback from the portal.
How to Roll Back (Customer Steps) #
- Log into the customer portal
- Go to Updates > Available Updates
- Find the product to roll back
- Click Other Versions or Rollback
- A list of available versions appears
- Select the desired older version
- Click Download
The download is subject to the same license validation and HMAC token security as any other download.
Versions Available for Rollback #
All published versions for the product appear in the rollback list, ordered newest first. The customer sees versions appropriate for their channel (beta/alpha customers see more versions than stable customers).
Admin Considerations #
You cannot restrict rollback to specific versions. All published versions are accessible to eligible license holders. If you need to prevent access to a specific version, unpublish (trash) that version in DDLS > Versions.
When to Tell Customers About Rollback #
Include rollback instructions in your support documentation or autoresponder for update-related issues:
"If the update caused issues, you can roll back to the previous version from your customer portal under Updates > Available Updates > Other Versions. If you need help, contact support."
