Understanding Versions and Downloads #

DMSI DDLS uses two related screens to manage your software releases: Versions and Downloads.

The Two Screens #

• Versions (DDLS > Versions): Where you create releases, attach files, and manage version numbers
• Downloads (DDLS > Downloads): Where you view download activity logs

How They Connect #

When you create a version and attach files, those files become available for download. Every time a customer downloads a file, a record appears in the Downloads log.

Version Variation Support (New in v2.0.0) #

Versions can now be linked to a specific product variation. This allows you to publish different builds for different product tiers — for example, a “Basic” build and a “Pro” build of the same product.

When a version is linked to a variation, only customers who purchased that specific variation see the version in their Portal downloads. Versions with no variation set remain visible to all customers of the product.
