Configuring Notifications #
All Service Management notification settings are managed in one location: Services > Settings > Notifications.
What DMSI Service Management Adds
This settings tab is new. It controls only the 11 notification types introduced by this extension. Notifications for Core events (license changes, billing) are controlled separately in Core’s settings.
Accessing Notification Settings #
- In the WordPress admin sidebar, navigate to Services.
- Click Settings.
- Click the Notifications tab.
Enabling and Disabling Notifications #
Each of the 11 notification types has an individual toggle. The toggle is a checkbox labeled with the notification type name. Unchecking the box disables that notification entirely — no email will be sent for that event type until the toggle is re-enabled.
All 11 notifications are enabled by default on a fresh installation.
From Address Override #
A single From Address field on the Notifications tab overrides the sender address for all Service Management emails. By default, the field is empty and emails use the WordPress site’s configured admin email address.
To use a custom from address:
- Enter the email address in the From Address field (e.g.,
service@yourcompany.com). - Optionally enter a display name alongside the address.
- Click Save Changes.
The from address override applies to all 11 notification types. There is no per-notification-type from address setting.
Considerations Before Disabling Notifications #
- Disabling
request-createdmeans neither the customer nor admin receives confirmation when a request is submitted. - Disabling
satisfaction-surveymeans no survey emails are ever sent, which will result in no survey data in reports. - Disabling
escalation-notificationmeans SLA breaches will not generate alerts to escalation recipients.
