Notification Settings #
The Notifications tab controls which of the 11 email notification types are active and configures the sender address for all outbound Service Management emails.
What DMSI Service Management Adds
This entire tab is new. It controls only the notifications added by this extension, not notifications from Core or WooCommerce.
Accessing Notification Settings #
Navigate to Services > Settings > Notifications.
Notification Toggles #
Each notification type is listed with a checkbox. A checked box means the notification is active and will be sent when triggered. An unchecked box disables the notification entirely.
| Notification Type | Default State |
|---|---|
| contract-created | Enabled |
| contract-expiring | Enabled |
| hour-usage-alert | Enabled |
| request-created | Enabled |
| request-assigned | Enabled |
| request-status-changed | Enabled |
| request-completed | Enabled |
| request-overdue | Enabled |
| asset-expiring-soon | Enabled |
| satisfaction-survey | Enabled |
| escalation-notification | Enabled |
All 11 notifications are enabled by default on a fresh installation.
From Address #
Setting name: notification_from_email
Overrides the sender email address for all 11 Service Management notification types. Leave empty to use the WordPress site admin email address.
Enter the address in standard email format: service@yourcompany.com
A display name can optionally be entered alongside the address. If the email client supports it, the display name appears instead of the raw address in the recipient’s inbox.
Effect of Disabling Notifications #
Disabling a notification type is permanent for all events that occur while the toggle is unchecked. If request-created is disabled for two weeks, no creation confirmations are sent for requests created during that period. There is no backfill mechanism — disabling and then re-enabling a notification does not trigger emails for missed events.
